This site has a short bibliography about mushrooms from Australia. As an aside, in a recent (summer 1995) visit to Sydney, Australia a look around all of the downtown bookstores netted me a total of one small field guide to the mushrooms of Australia. Even the large library in Sydney had only a few mushroom titles. One of the books mentioned that the study of mushrooms in Australia was in its infancy. Sounds like an excellent place for a budding (or would that be germinating) mycologist to focus on. Added: 1/1/96; Last verified: 5/18/96

This newsgroup may not be available on all systems (I don't appear to have access to it from my service provider in New Hampshire, USA). If anyone can gain access to it I would appreciate knowing where you are located and a description of the kind of information discussed here and I'll enclose that information. No, this isn't a journey into the deep dark forests of Central or South America, but a trip to our own rain forest in the Olympic National Forest of Washington state. This site just contains a few pictures of unidentified mushrooms taken while on a trip through the forest. One of the pictures labeled "Angel of Death" appears to be an Amanita gemmata which is very common in the Pacific Northwest. Added: 1/1/96; Last verified: 5/18/96

Here is a very interesting new site that includes the following categories to expore: Retail Trade, Industry Information, Foodservice News, Shopper's Guide and Press Box.
