Joseph E. Godek is the sole proprietor and artist at Chippaway Art Glass. In his late teens Joe was fascinated by an article in Yankee Magazine and became absorbed in the process from that point on. He realized his initial interest by designing stained glass pieces for his family and friends. Soon his hobby became a career when he opened his first store in 1977 under the name "Touch of Glass". In 1991, he moved his business into his home studio, where he lives with his wife and two sons. His business, once named "Touch of Glass", is now called Chippaway Art Glass serving customers around the world.

From his home studio Joe designs custom windows. He also sells stained glass supplies. As a member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen he participates in the Craftsmen's Fair which is held annually at the Mount Sunapee Resort, Newbury, New Hampshire.
